Rob
Kantenwein is Director of Operations for Hands On Helpers.
Formerly Director of Volunteer Referral at Volunteers for Morris County,
Rob brings a wealth of experience in the volunteer sector to his position
at Hands On Helpers. He coordinates its website and provides guidance and
support for both agencies and volunteers that use Hands On Helpers
services.
Rob was raised in Newton, New Jersey
, and graduated from Montclair State University, where he studied commercial recreation and non-profit
management through the American Humanics program. His interest in public
service started early in life. He was a 4-H club member throughout his
childhood, and he and his family raised nine Seeing-Eye dogs.
Prior to working with Volunteers for Morris County, Rob was Executive
Director of the Edison Youth Service Corps, a grassroots organization that
encourages high school students to become volunteers within their own
community.
“What especially attracted me to Hands On Helpers,” he
says, “was the chance to help develop the organization, and the
opportunity, via Hands On Helpers' website, to make information about
volunteerism easily accessible any time, and at the user’s convenience.”
Rob and his wife Susan live in Greenwich Township with their two sons.
