Hands On Helpers Unveils New Name at Communiversity 2009

On Saturday, April 25th, in downtown Princeton, Hands On Helpers participated in Communiversity 2009 and spread the word about our new name, VolunteerConnect.

Staff and volunteers greeted event participants and shared the news about VolunteerConnect’s plans for the future. People were excited to learn more about volunteering in our communities. Hundreds of attendees registered with our web site and wore “I Volunteer!” stickers, showing their support of volunteerism.

We shared our space at the event with Service Opportunities for Students (SOS) and The Arts Council of Princeton’s Commitment Mural. Visitors were asked to add their commitment to making the world a better place to the mural. The mural resides on the second floor of the Paul Robeson Center for the Arts.
